I spent last weekend at the Pleasant Street Inn, a B+B in Rangeley Maine. If you haven’t been to this extraordinarily beautiful town it’s well worth the 2.5 hour trip from Portland. The inn is large and roomy, filled with art and antiques. Rob and Jan Welch are the perfect hosts, and Rob whips up a delicious breakfast. Complimentary wine and snacks are available, and the rooms are airy, light-filled and pristinely clean. Rooms all have sleep number beds, providing a wonderful night’s sleep. Check out their website at www.pleasantstreetinnbb.com.

In June I attended The National Needlework Association trade show in downtown Columbus, Ohio. It's the biggest show for our industry, including hundreds of yarn companies from around the world. It's a great opportunity to meet shop owners, and others you do business with over the internet. I even met my new editor at Potter Craft who I had been working virtually with for months! There's also are big-time fashion show, with garments from all the major yarn companies and designers, but you can't take photos of that...
